Harris Community Action

About Us

Harris Community Action serves to connect graduate students from the Harris School of Public Policy to the larger South Side Community through a unique fellowship program that utilizes student expertise in data analysis for the benefit of local non-profit organizations.

Our Community Partners

We work closely with our community partners to scope identified needs into specific project deliverables that can be completed in a time period of 10 weeks.

Become an HCA Fellow!

The HCA Fellowship takes place over the ten weeks of the winter quarter. Students selected as fellows will work in teams of 3 – 4 to complete a project that supports a local community organization.

How We Work

Every academic year, Harris Community Action invites students from the Harris School of Public Policy to participate in the HCA fellowship. Once selected, fellows are formed into teams based on their interests and skills. At the same time, local non-profit organizations apply to participate in the program, and, with the help of the board, scope 10-week projects to benefit their organization and community. Fellow teams are then connected with our partner organizations to begin executing their projects.
